Jackie Polk, the aunt of Grocelin Vic-6-year-old girl whose tragic death last month shook her family and their community in Mississippi-Si, remembers her niece as an adventure girl who loved to be out, especially on the Socir farm where he lived with her mother Vicky Hutcherson.

“Grocelin was a stormy child,” says the 55 -year -old regiment, telling people. “I want to say, full of energy full of SAC.”

Around 12 o’clock on April 13, Grocelin went out to play in the front yard and then disappeared, according to the sheriff of Harrison County. Authorities spent hours searching for Grocelin before it was found around 6:00 pm and declared dead.

Four days after the death of Grocelin, Harrison Matt Haley sheriff said her death was a “tragic disaster” and that as she was playing, she crawled inside the nearby barrel, closed the lid inside and trapped.

“There were absolutely no signs of a fake game,” Haley at the press conference. Although the cause of her death has not yet been announced, the sheriff said that due to the heat index on the day of her death, Madeline would “experience a combination of heat stress and limited oxygen supply inside the barrel.”

A regiment, who lives 20 miles in Hankok County, recalls that he has received a phone call from 46 -year -old Hutcherson after her mother noticed that her daughter was gone. “She couldn’t find her,” says Polk. “She called her and she was looking for.”

When she arrived at her sister’s farm, police and emergency were already present. “There were so many people everywhere,” she says. “I mean, I counted at least five search dogs.”

Polk says a Mississippi investigation employee is the one who found Grocelin. “Vicky was next to the investigator,” says Polk. “When Grace was found, she was screaming and I ran to her. All this happened within seconds.”

The death of Grocelin is the last tragedy for Hutcherson, who has lost three children in about four years.

In July 2021, her son Larry Hart died at the age of 17. “They said he had a missing enzyme in his liver,” said Polk, saying that her nephew used a dining tube and never spoke or walked, but “he can recognize voices because we can see that he can see his behavior and reaction.”

Six months later, Hutcherson’s fiance was diagnosed with rare cancer and died. “Our family has gone through death,” says Polk. “We have seen more from our family and the extended family in the last four years than throughout our lives because we have had so many funerals.”

The funeral of Grocelin was held on April 21 and the next day a vigil was held in candles. The event was installed by the local non -profit organization The Kind Hearts, which raised money to pay for the funeral and funeral of Gracelynn.
